Curatorial Practice.

“Like contemporary art, contemporary curating is embroiled in time, but not bound by it; entangled with periodizing urges, but not enslaved to them; committed to space, but of many kinds, actual and virtual; anxious about place, but thrilled by dispersion’s roller-coaster ride.”
-Terry Smith, Thinking Contemporary Curating
My curatorial philosophy is that art is for everyone, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or education level. As such, my practice is built upon drawing from familiar cultural themes that can resonate with everyone, including minority audiences. I often merge familiar elements of pop culture with imagery of antiquity, to produce shows that both challenge and embrace advances in technology. This approach of welcoming trends of the future while evoking nostalgia for past, is what is at the core of all shows I produce. By simultaneously testing the boundaries of time and space; passive observer and active participant; artist and curator; I aim to facilitate experiences that engage the creative and critical minds of all individuals involved.
